Welcome to my homepage!

I'm Eva, an Icelandic crime fiction author. I grew up in Akranes, a small fishing town about 40 minutes from Reykjavík. I have a BA in sociology and literature. At 25 I moved to Trondheim, Norway, to pursue an MA in globalization. After returning to Iceland, I settled in Reykjavík and began writing my debut novel, The Creak on the Stairs.

My background in sociology sparked a deep interest in criminology, which heavily influences my writing. I focus on the psychological aspects of crime, exploring the depths of human nature through my characters.

The book is set in my hometown and follows Elma, a young detective who moves back to Akranes after experiencing personal trauma. The Creak on the Stairs won The Crime Association's New Blood Dagger prize and has since been published in over 20 languages. I’ve written five more books in the Forbidden Iceland series, and excitingly, the first book has been optioned for a TV adaptation by the production company Glassriver.

I hope you enjoy my books—happy reading!
